One demonstration of that can be found in the special examination of poetry, which was included in the imperial examination system of the Tang Dynasty. And most of the Tang Dynasty poets loved travelling. For example, Li Bai and Du Fu had visited most places of China, which widened their horizons, enriched their themes and imagination. So the poetry of the Tang Dynasty is the peak of ancient Chinese poetry, far beyond the reach of the followers.
