Good morning! I’m glad to participate in this Energy Reform Forum and deliver a speech. I’d like to take this opportunity to express my congratulations on this forum and to extend my warm welcome to foreign and Chinese guests present here today!
Energy is the material basis on which we all depend. Chinese government always gives priority to energy transformation and development. We have been quite successful in adjusting the energy mix and continuously improving energy efficiency. Looking to the future, China will adopt the new development philosophy. We will promote the energy supply-side reform, seek innovation in technology, institution and mechanism as well as in business models. We will also change the way of energy production and consumption so as to develop a modern energy system that is clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient.
In recent years, energy cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative has yielded fruitful outcomes with deepened policy exchanges and continuous cooperation. China is willing to explore cooperation potential with BRI countries to jointly meet challenges and to promote cooperation in energy trade, investment and production. China would like to work with relevant countries to boost energy transformation and speed up the shift to green and low-carbon energy. We will continue to work on making energy more accessible worldwide, so that more and more people will benefit from energy development.
It’s a shared mission for the international community to accelerate energy transformation for green and low-carbon development. Countries should work together to meet challenges, to strengthen exchanges on energy policy and energy transformation strategy, and to improve global energy governance. Countries should also seek technology innovation in energy sector so as to improve the efficiency of energy production and consumption. In addition, countries should enhance cooperation and seek complementarities in energy production, and work together to move human society from industrial civilization to eco-civilization. By doing so, we could achieve more dynamic economic development and make the world economic growth sustainable, balanced and inclusive. With that, I wish this forum a complete success, thank you!
